Slovenia is the country with the largest number of vineyards and wine cellars per capita, where heritage and tradition are cherished, which is also manifested through the "Vineyards Retreats" touristic project. Vineyard cottages are smaller tourist facilities located midst of vineyards offering magnificent panoramic views. The guests explore Slovenia's natural and cultural heritage, traditions as well as everyday life during their stay. On worldwide touristic platforms vineyard retreats hold rates higher than 9. Although we have witnessed a disturbing trend of abandoned vineyards in recent years, it is the product "Tourism in vineyard cottages" which brings added value and helps restoring the exceptional cultural land by stopping the vineyards being cut down.
